WORKING FOR CHRIST

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

As God assembles a unique mix of gifted people at Bethel, in turn, the congregation seeks to discern the work God is calling the people of Bethel to do. The gifts and skills God brings to our  congregation determines the ways in which we carry out Christ's work  as we seek to be effective coworkers with Christ in the kingdom. For more information about any of these ministries or to volunteer please call the church office at 442-4775.

Bethel Choir leads Sunday morning worship September through July.  Rehearsal is Wednesday nights at 7:30 in the sanctuary.  New voices are always welcome.

Bluff’s Nursing Home Ministry meets on the Third Sunday 2:00pm at the Bluffs.  Volunteers lead devotions, music, play piano, pray, or visit with residents

The Boone County Jail Ministry partners with other churches to lead worship services at jail.  Bethel members  lead devotions, sing, pray, and  go to support inmates.  Volunteers must pass a background check and be at least 18 years old.

Central Missouri Food Bank volunteers meet the third Tuesday each month from 6:00 –8:00 pm. Tasks vary each month, but usually involve packaging and sorting food.  It is a great ministry for all ages.

Each summer we provide lunch for neighborhood kids that usually depend on school lunches for nutrition.  Lunch Bunch volunteers prepare food, serve food, and spend time talking with the kids.  This program is carried out in partnership with the Central Missouri Food Bank

Men & Boy’s Prayer Breakfast meets on the Second Sunday of each month at 8:00 am for breakfast, devotion, and prayer. No reservations are needed.

Reading Roundtable meets on the Second Sunday of each month at 2:00 pm to discuss selected books.

Sunday School is held at 9:30 am each week. Preschool and School-age Children meet with other children their age, and there are several adult classes from which to choose.

That Youth Thing is our teen group.  Weekly Bible study, Lock ins, camping trips,  volunteer mission opportunities and other activities are scheduled throughout the year.

School-aged Children meet together for fun and study on Sundays following Sunday morning worship, and on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm during the learning hour . Bethel always assures two adults will be present with children to provide the safest possible learning environment for children.

The Learning Hour is an adult Bible study from 6:30-7:30 pm on Wednesday evenings.  Difficult scripture texts, issues of the day, and personal discipleship are typical class fare.

Our community of faith gathers each Wednesday evening as  a Brown Bag Supper is shared at 5:30 pm each week.
